ABOUT US
Texircon is a small, independent research project focused on the documentation, evaluation and structured analysis of textile-related objects and practices. With a neutral and academic approach, we engage with questions of transparency, classification and material understanding, especially in areas where commercial interests and knowledge gaps often overlap. Texircon is not a commercial provider and does not act as a certifying authority. Instead, the project offers independent perspective shaped by observation, expertise and international cooperation.
Texircon is based in Indonesia and brings together professionals with both academic and hands-on experience in the textile industry, material culture and applied research. Contributors from China, Philippines, India, Switzerland and Bangladesh support the project’s work across different regional and disciplinary contexts. The project is supported entirely by independent contributors such as freelancers, consultants and volunteers
The initiative’s structure allows for low-threshold, practice-oriented work in areas that often fall between commerce and science. Texircon offers independent insight where orientation is needed, drawing on practical observation and disciplinary knowledge.
Our work is grounded in a scientific mindset, with focus areas that include documentation, information and validation. We aim to promote awareness, support careful handling and contribute to greater transparency within the everyday realities of the textile industry.
Texircon is not a brand, marketplace or dealer, but rather a collaborative effort to make applied knowledge accessible where it is often missing.
